Colour Wheels

Lucy Colour Wheels

Zoe Colour Wheels

So today we launched our new website, which was very exciting, as it was a very long project, but more on that later. We also launched our lovely new little product range called "Colour Wheels". Named by our 8 year old, these little pops of colour are hand painted onto premium plywood. It's nice when a project involved the whole family. There are currently dozens of these little circles all over our place in various states of complete. These are a lovely way to add some colour to your wall or to an existing cluster of artworks. xx

Styling with : Sorbet Limited Edition Art Print

I had so much fun finding pieces to work in with our new Sorbet Limited Edition Art Print. (Available now from Printspace) It's great, as there are no limitations and you can choose anything at all.  I couldn't help myself, especially with the rug.... the colours are amazing.  The Light is a perfect shade of pale green/blue. Was I being greedy adding 2 pieces from Jardan? Nah, they are too lovely to ignore.

Created from an original painting, this print has all the brightness and detail that the painting does, and can be framed easily. Summer might have officially ended a few weeks ago now, and this print in gelati colours are a reminder of sunny days!

The print is a limited edition of 100, and is 50cm x 50cm (paper size, print is a bit smaller to allow for a white border for framing.) Yes, Ikea do a frame to fit this size. It is printed on beautiful cotton rag art paper, right here in Melbourne. xx

Where to buy these products:

Art: Printspace Sorbet Limited Edition Art Print
Lighting: Toldbod 120, Living Edge

Sofa: Wilfred, Jardan
Low Table: Iko, Jardan
Rug: Ribbon Multi Stripe, Armadillo & Co

Japanese Fish Prints

Nick created these lovely Japanese inspired art prints about 6 months ago, and recently it seems that people have discovered them! Sometimes things just need to grow on you. We recently had a customer order 2 of them on the 50x70cm size, and the colours looked beautiful. It's so wonderful to see customers selections and what they put together.

See them on our web site.

wishlist......art by eleanor millard

I have a very long wish list. Some things are tangible, others aren't and some are just glorious expressions.

These paintings are by Australian artist Eleanor Millard. I love her use of shape and colour. This one at the very bottom is titled: 'Fusion of Hot Yellow & Cold Blue 2' is my favorite. But alas it has been sold..... better be quick next time.

i am so very excited... my Matte Stephens print arrived on Friday. This one is titled Waiting Again. I am such a fan of his work, I had great trouble trying to pick just one! Love the quirkiness and the colours, its so cool when art can make you feel great. Love it.

(Did I mention I am now buying myself a piece of art for my birthday each year - and this is the first. such a good idea!)

inspired... miroslav sasek

As you have probably guessed, I am a lover of vintage childrens books, especially those created during the mid 2oth century. Here is my latest obsession... Miroslav Sasek. I have admired these books for ages and finally bought one (The is New York) for my Archer's 1st birthday in July. I found this decision of which fabulous book in the series to choose quite easy. This is because a. New York would have to be my favourite city away from home (and am devastated to think I was last there 10 years ago... goodness...), b. I want to buy all of them anyway and c. everyone loves a fireman!! ;) Nick and I hope this obsession will spark a love of travel and different cultures in our boys.

Oh, and how cool is it that there's one on Australia.... I mean it was produced and thousand years ago...... I think I will order it next. xxx
