Styling with... Cars Name Art Print

Art Print: Cars Name Art Print
Frame: Ikea, Ribba Frame
Cushion: Ferm Living, Star Neon Cushion
Soft Toy: Kido, Luckyboysunday Snoop
Mobile: Kido, Artecnica Themis Prism Mobile
Blanket: Habitat Home, Anna-Lisa Blanket

Our new Name Art Prints have been a hit, and we thought we would feature a few of the designs in a little styling story, to show how they could work in a child's room. This orange and neutral design works well with pops of orange, soft pale blue/green and natural timber. Presto a boy's room that is fresh and bright.  xx

Life Instyle August 2013

Here are some images from our stand at Life Instyle, Melbourne, just last week.
What a huge 4 days, where we had the opportunity to meet and talk to stockists, stylists and decorators from around the country and overseas. Thank you to everyone who popped in to visit our stand.

We have heaps of new things happening:
Stationery, new cards (which aren't in this picture - hence the empty space at the top of the card rack!!), new wrapping paper and gift tags.
Textiles for the home, a new range of cushions, and wall hangings.
Textiles for the kids, with world maps, height charts and cotton ABC books.
Limited Edition artwork and original paintings on paper.

It's been a busy few months to say the least, and we are looking forward to adding the new products to our online shop over the coming weeks and also to see it in stores soon too.

Love a little Craft DIY

High-Spirited Garland, from BHLDN

From Cinco Style

From Hello Sandwich

From The Purl Bee

From Hello Polly

I'm not much of a crafter. I'm way too messy.... that's why I started drawing, you can be as messy as you like! But craft needs precision and me and knitting just never got along. I wish we did, as I wished I could sew a straight line! Given that my Mum is the best maker I know it's a bit ridiculous that I didn't inherit that gene. And I do love all things craft.... I'll have to stick to the paper kind and leave the knitting to the professionals.
Thanks pinterest for these lovely images. xxx

Sneaky Peak : New Paintings

Nick has been working away on some new paintings for an upcoming exhibition at APTE cafe in Alphington. It is something he has been wanting to do for a very long time, so it has been super exciting to watch it happen. Here is a sneaky peak at some of them. For more info visit here.

It's been great having the studio at home converted into a painting room..... there are canvases and boards all over the house. as well as drips of colour on the floorboards. And it has inspired our littlest to do some painting too - his paintings seem to take a lot less time however!

Special Offer, Limited Edition : New Size Art Prints

Framed in the Ikea Ribba frame, 40x 50cm

Framed in the Ikea Ribba frame, 50x 70cm

Framed in the Ikea Ribba frame, 50x 70cm

Framed in the Ikea Ribba frame, 40x 50cm

Two of our favourite prints made it into Marie Claire magazine this month, and we thought it would be great to offer a special edition size of the two featured prints. So we have released both Little One's Umbrella and Lovely Day in a 40x50cm size, these prints are printed on a stunning 300gsm archival quality fine art paper.

And to make it even extra special, there are only 10 available in each size.

We have used the Ikea Ribba frames here to show you how they look framed. We love the natural oak stained look, but the frames also come in white and black. The other good thing is that depending on your style and space, the prints can fit into 2 different sized frames. One has a mount card and one doesn't. Lovely.

(oh, and they do still come in all the other sizes too.) xx

Recent work, experiments etc

I have been playing around with the idea of introducing some more paint and watercolour in my work. So I have officially started a journal, or as we used to call them at art school and uni, a visual diary. It sounds so proper though... visual diary. Too much pressure there, so I will stick to journal.

Here are some of the first entries in my journal. I can't stay away from the yellow and pink. There is something cheery and uplifting about these colours that I can't keep away.......
Might even have some finished pieces soon.

Scribbles and paint.

Something new. Yes, I am taking the plunge into some new art. Starting with some scribbles with ink and a dab or two of paint. Our home office has turned into a bit of a dump, since we moved into our new studio about a year ago. No fancy pants home office at our place, just a room full of left over work, random kids toys, an old printer, and lots of paper - magazines, bills, wrapping paper, you name it. So last weekend I cleared a space (home office re-vamp for another day) and set up a painting / creating space. Y A Y. F I N A L L Y, somewhere we can make mess. And I love the fact that every time I pull out the paint and start painting, the boys want to join in too. I would prefer that they stick to their own sheet of paper than wanting to add to mine, but hey, one step at a time!

Hopefully this new space will inspire some finished pieces soon. Fingers crossed! xxx

All about Cider.

Isaac's Cider

Rochdale Cider

Saxton Cider

Side Burn Cider

It seems that everywhere I turn at the moment, I see Cider. Apple Cider, Berry Cider, a dash of Lime Cider. I've found a few that have interesting labels. Designing labels can be a great job to get, and even better when the client lets you have a bit of fun.
Enjoy. xx

Stunning House in Villarcayo

I found this amazing house on the Daily Icon blog. And wow. So simple, and extremely striking.
This design make me happy. I love looking at the lines and the materials they have used.
Although not somewhere I would live, well unless I could make it still look so amazing, with all the 'stuff' that comes with a family!
