Our first Tee! for the and me too artTEE series

We made a special little french bird stack especially for and me too, a beautiful french inspired brand for kids! To find out more about this little sweet heart, check out the tee here. So excited, and can't wait to make more! I have a love of fabric and textiles and am so happy to have been given this opportunity to produce some art for this medium. xx

new prints... jungle animals.

these little guys are my lastest creations and were seen today at the sisters market in brunswick. i have added black as a feature colour, something which is new to me in my illustrations. i have used it in the past but not with such enthusiasm! i am enjoying embracing the black, and may even do some more as there are a couple more animals up my sleeve. these will be added to the shops soon. not now, it's bed time as day light savings starts tonight in Melbourne and the little ones have no idea which will make the next few days interesting.
... and thank you to everyone who came to say hello at the market today, its always so great to meet our online customers and wholesalers in person. we chat with most people via email, its such a bonus these days to actually meet them! and to all the long lost friends that we haven't seen in years that also pop in (sometimes on purpose, usually by accident!) that's so lovely too. markets are such a fun. love it. xx

Our first stockist in Perth!

The lovely Mel from Stork's Corner in Perth has sent over some photos of the new store which opened on the 1st of July. It is looking just gorgeous, and we are so excited to have our product in WA, and amongst such goodies!! There is a play area upstairs which includes story time and activities, so the kids have a special place to play while you shop. Clever...
So if you live anywhere near Myaree and you'd like to take a peek at some of our prints and all the other treasures, please visit: Stork's Corner, Unit 11, 47 McCoy St Myaree WA 6154
I think a trip to Perth is in order, and we have family there so why not?

First Day...

Hi. It's a big day for my oldest Little One. It's my 3 year old's first day at Day Care. Huge. First Day. We'll see how he goes. He seemed happy enough to stay when I said good bye. Fingers crossed he's not bawling.
Hope not. Shouldn't be. They are lovely there. And he seemed to enjoy sticking little sticks onto paper with paste. Ah the simple things.
So I now have a whole morning to fill. Littlest One (no2) is having his morning nap. It's so quiet. I'm not sure what to do ... hence the blog. No, I have plenty to do.... chores..boring. And I could always upload a new illustration.... or go back to bed.......
I hope he's ok and having fun. xx

Party Invites... printable pdfs.
More printable designs for my Pinecone and Lola etsy shop. This one is a party invitation for kids' birthday party. Cute Ted is the hero image. I especially like the little heart on his chest, sort of wearing his heart on his sleeve.... that's what little kids do I guess. Three colours and any age to choose. Print any time and any quantity from your home. Easy peasy.
Oh and I like the sweet little wooden pegs in this shot. They are from kikki.k and very useful. Can't believe how useful.... for a peg that is.

The Happiest Little One

Hello.
Little A is my youngest son, is such a happy little man. He is always beaming (well not always, he is after all 8 months old) He sat in a high chair at my Mum and Dad's playing with his little plastic spoon for ages. Bash bash bash. Loving the spoon, chew chew chew.
We had a busy day yesterday, my boys and I visited a close friend and her 2 kids, they jumped on a jumping castle, just a little one (castle that is), but when you are nearly 3 that's all you need. Got caught in the rain, but it's a good thing, being in the worst drought, it's always a time of happiness when it rains. But it only lasted for a few hours, the sun was ourt again by the afternoon.
Visited my Aunt, Cousin and her little girl. Which was nice, hadn't seen them in a while. As you get older you don't get the see your extended family as much as when you are little. And even less when you have kids. Gosh time is flying by........

My Son the Photographer

So my nearly 3 year old (Little M) has mastered using my iphone, which still freaks me out, and here is a photo I found on my phone. It's weird finding photos on your phone that you didn't take. He's hilarious when he's taking a picture. He has so many questions, loves to photograph the most mundane things (eg. paperclip, cereal box, hole punch) and thinks its great when he gets a person in the shot!
This one is rather abstract, and very blurry, but I think that adds to its charm. It's of our airplane mobile that was a gift for our Little A.

Paul Rand .... design hero

So there are people out there that inspire many, and I think Paul Rand is one of those people. A true graphic designer, whose work is so stunning, so bold and so memorable. And he designed the Apple logo!! Gotta love that. Two of my favourite things... Paul Rand and my Mac.

Blog of the week : capture create and some ramblings
My loveliest blog this week is by ali edwards. And its rather gorgeous. If you are into scrappbooking, which is something I haven't really done myself, then this is th site for you. Some beautiful ideas....... and we get a menion indirectly through the link to Bloesem Kids blog. (which is also very lovely.)
I am a bit tired tonight. Trying to stay focused. I have been working on a bigish design project for a client of ours (my husband and my graphic design business) and it's tiring. Plus I want to spend time on my art at the moment and there just isn't enough time in the day. BUT..... I am getting a bi tof time back, my lovely boy (no2) is now going to bed at around 7:30pm (drowsy but awake....aas all you mums and dads have probably read before!!!!) and staying asleep until 11pm ish. This is a far cry from a couple of weeks ago when we have a very upset 4 month old, who liked to stay awake until the late evening. To all parents out there wondering if their tiny little loves will ever get to sleep, the answer is yes... just hang in there. Now if someone could just tell me how I get my gorgeous 2 years to detach himself from my leg, and fall asleep in under an hour I would be most grateful.......... (ah separation anxiety!)

Ramblings...
Start rambling now.
Ah time... that's where I was. So it's 12.30am on a friday.... yes AM. What am I doing writing on my blog? Well, you do stuff when you can and today this is the time. I am all a muddle with sorting out my day (and night.) This may have something to do with 2 little boys in my life (one is two and a half, the other four months old. how can 2 little people cause such a sensation? man, I never thought having kids would be this life changing or consuming, sure I thought I'd be busier, tired etc but I didn't expect the mental exhaustion that goes with it! Lucky they are beautiful and funny and the best thing my husband and I ever did.
So I am attempting to structure my unstructurable life. So first things first, my blogging and etsy - ing. One little article every day ( I have categories now, which means I won't struggle with coming up with things to say... there sare so many things that inspire me, and I am completely design obsessed, so why not share my love of design / product / art / homewares / interiors with everyone? my first one was PRODUCT OF THE WEEK.) and hopefully one new listing on etsy each day... hopefully....
Oh, one more thing, my little 4 month old has for the last 3 nights started sleeping in the early evenings... rather than hanging out with Mum and Dad. Thanks Archie xxx
Must go to bed.
End rambling now.
